A slow-moving area of low pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere will create scattered showers and drenching thunderstorms this evening.  While damaging winds and large hail are not expected, torrential rain with some of the storms will produce brief flooding, mainly of road surfaces and areas of poor drainage. 

Storms will subside later this evening and leave a partly cloudy sky overnight. 

Tomorrow and Wednesday will bring a smaller number of the scattered thunderstorms across the area and more breaks of sunshine. Highs will move into the 80s both of those afternoons. 

Friday and the weekend will be cooler and less humid by comparison.  While most of the period looks dry, a weak disturbance is expected to be in the area Sunday and Monday. That disturbance will touch off more clouds and the possibility of showers.
