Congressman Bob Goodlatte sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder requesting more clarification about the pending transfer request of Jens Soering to Germany.
Soering brutally stabbed Derek and Nancy Haysom to death in 1985. Governor Kaine approved his request upon leaving office.
Soon after Governor McDonnell sent a letter revoking the transfer. He sent another letter this week, after Goodlatte questioned Holder on Capitol Hill.
On Wednesday- Goodlatte asked Holder to confirm that the Department of Justice will not act until the state judicial system deter mine's its official position.
He also asked how the DOJ plans to respond to Governor Kaine's request if the courts decide to invalidate McDonnell's.
