Radford, VA - Authorities in Radford are investigating the shooting death of a Papa John's Pizza store manager.
Police are still searching for whoever killed 27-year-old Jason Stigger of Pulaski County. They responded to a 911 call at the store on Tyler Avenue about 1:35 a.m. Thursday.
What exactly happened at that time is unclear, but what we do know is that a returning delivery driver found Stigger dead with a gunshot wound.
Investigators believe robbery was the motive. Members of the management team from the company that owns the franchise are on hand and providing grief counseling for anyone who may need it.
As for Stigger, those who knew him say he was a big man with a big heart; good natured, easy-going and a solid family man. Friends say Stigger leaves behind a wife and a two-year old daughter.
Executive director of the Radford Chamber of Commerce Michelle Linkous says the Jason Stigger Family Memorial Fund has been set up at the First Bank of Virginia.
