Richmond, VA - An attorney for Jens Soering has sent a sworn statement to Governor Bob McDonnell from a Lynchburg man.
Soering has been convicted of killing Derek and Nancy Haysom in Bedford County in 1985. But he's hoping this new evidence will win his transfer to a German prison.
In the letter, Tony Buchanan says Elizabeth Haysom and another man brought a bloody car into his transmission shop, not long after her parents were stabbed and nearly decapitated in 1985.
But Haysom, who is also serving time for her role in the murders, says Soering is not innocent.
