This is the "Week of the Young Child" a time when early childhood educators are promoting the importance of teaching young children. A top program in that effort is Success by Six , an early childhood education program supported by the United Way of Central Virginia. Its goal is to prepare children for life by preparing them for kindergarten. Sandy Slack is a Lynchburg City School Teacher and a Success by Six Leader and I had the opportunity to meet with her at a local early childhood education center to talk about how important it is for children to learn and interact in a well designed program.
