NBA - My Lakers - Cavs matchup in the Finals still looks good.

Manny Rant - I love baseball's new steroid testing and punishment procedures. Manny Ramirez was busted and now he's paying for it. That's how it should be. 50 games is a stiff penalty. It's nearly one-third of the season. As a lifelong baseball fan, I'm disgusted that the game has come to this but MLB has taken encouraging steps toward completely eliminating performance-enhancing drugs from the game.

Local talk - Spring sports tournaments, both college and high school are about to start. What I'm looking for: Can UVa's baseball team play good baseball in the postseason? They're a lock to make the NCAA Tournament but in recent years they've had top ten teams (like they have this year), and have gone down the toilet in the postseason.

Can Liberty's baseball team get over the hump. I don't think they will. They have offense but their pitching is inconsistent. Just this past weekend, LU had a shot to prove they belong at the top of the conference and they blew it. They got swept 3 games to none against perennial power Coastal Carolina. Prove me wrong LU.

At the high school level, the only two strong teams I've seen in person are Jefferson Forest and Chatham. Unless I'm missing something, I don't think any other area baseball teams have a shot to contend for a STATE title. The softball teams with the best shot at making some postseason tournament runs.Brookville, Franklin County, Altavista. Can you think of any others?
