25 rushing touchdowns

When you have the last name Abell and you are a football player, the expectations are higher than normal. The senior (son of Washington & Lee Head Coach Scott Abell) has done an outstanding job leading the Wildcats to another playoff berth for Jason White's Wildcats. Abell, the Blue Ridge District Offensive Player of the Year, is prominently featured in the Wildcats record book. He broke the record for most rushing yards in a game this season with 242 against Waynesboro, and rushed for 230 against Alleghany as well. He also broke the record of the late Chas Prasnicki for most rushing yards by a quarterback.

What They Are Saying About Porter Abell

"Porter Abell is a fine young man who has made a tremendous impact on our football program. He is a phenominal young man, and first class leader." – Jason White, Rockbridge Co. Head Coach

Kendall BeCraft

Brookville Senior Quarterback

170 passing completions

278 passing attempts (61.1 % comp)

2,895 passing yards

33 passing touchdowns

8 interceptions

Kendall BeCraft doesn't have a lot of rushing numbers (he did score 1 rushing touchdown this season). He doesn't play defense for the Bees. But what he does do, he does very, very well. BeCraft, who led the Bees to a State Championship last season, has picked up where he left off. The Bees are undefeated and headed to the playoffs with a chance to repeat as State Champions.

What They Are Saying About Kendall BeCraft

Kendall Becraft is a quality kid and a great football player. He does a great job running their offense. We have tried to defend him the past three years and he does a really good job no matter what you throw at him. He handles the blitz well even when pressure is immediately in his face. When we played him during his sophomore year, we brought pressure from all angles and put him on the ground several times. he stood in the pocket and made every throw. The next year, we tried mixing coverages with some blitz and he always seemed to make a decision that put their offense in good position. – Greg Mullins, William Campbell Head Coach

JeVontae Parrish

Heritage Senior Quarterback

136 passes completed

233 passes attempted (58.3 % comp.)

2,283 yards

27 touchdowns

9 interceptions, 208 carries

1,411 rushing yards (6 yards per carry)

18 rushing touchdowns

Without a doubt, the Heritage Pioneers wouldn't be where they are now without the skills of JeVontae Parrish. The senior signal caller has guided the Pioneers to a whopping 36.7 points per game, and helped the Pioneers push Brookville to the limit (The Bees won 19-17, their closest margin of victory all season). Pioneers QB coach Danny Broggin, who played QB for Brad Bradley at William Campbell, said Parrish is a true student of the game, which he has displayed on the field, passing seven exams this season against just one defeat.

What They Are Saying About JeVontae Parrish

"I was impressed with his poise. He seemed to never get rattled in the pocket and did a good job of making some big plays with people in his face." – Cecil Phillips, Head Coach Amherst Lancers
