Ryheem Dawson's junior season is complete but the Fighting Blue tail back left his blue print for how things are supposed to be done. He broke the school's single game rushing record at West Point with 374 yards on the ground. He broke the school record for most points in a season and he found pay-dirt a whopping 41 times.

What they are Saying about Ryheem Dawson

"Ryheem Dawson is an exceptional athlete in all facets of the game, but most importantly he is an exceptional person both on and off the field."

Mike Craft, Head Coach Parry McCluer

Zac Hill

William Byrd Senior QB

364 rushes for 2,309 rushing yards, 24 TDs

46-90 passing, 713 yards, 7 TD, 5 INT

713 passing yards, 7 touchdowns, 5 interceptions

90 solo tackles, 19 assists, 4 forced fumbles

2 Interceptions, 1 Fumble Recovery

The William Byrd terriers have had a lot of great players in the past, but with the year Zac Hill had, he definitely puts himself in the category of Terriers greats. Hill, did something most people don't do, when he led the Terriers to a victory at Salem with 35 carries, totaling 198 yards on the ground with 3 touchdowns. Defensively, he contributed 10 tackles against the Spartans as well. Against Lord Botetourt, Hill was again a workhorse carrying the pigskin 39 times for 211 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Terriers regular season finale. Hill, rushed the Terriers into Round 2 of the VHSL playoffs by powering for 287 yards on 35 carries and rushed for 3 touchdowns. Hill, added the icing on the cake by going 4 of 5 through the air for 112 yards and a touchdown. 7 tackles and 1 interception was Hill's contribution on the defensive side of the ball. Hill closed out his career with another 200 yard rushing performance (211 to be exact) and 3 touchdowns at City Stadium in a loss to Heritage.

What they are Saying about Zac Hill

"Zac is the toughest and hardest working kid in our program and it shows."

Jeff Highfill, head coach William Byrd Terriers

Juan Thornhill

Altavista Junior QB

185 rushes for 1,716 yards, 24 TDs

60-119 passing, 962 yards, 16 TDs, 4 INT

155.5 tackles

6 INTs on defense, 2 returned for TDs

Juan Thornhill helped the Colonels capture a state title in basketball in Richmond last season. Now, Thornhill is looking to add some more jewelry to his hand with a second ring. Thornhill spread his dominance across Virginia earlier this season into Southwest Virginia against Galax with a 12 carry, 155 yard performance that included 2 touchdown runs in addition to an interception return for a touchdown. Thornhill wasn't even needed for a whole half in the Colonels victory against Northumberland in the 1st round of the playoffs. But, he made up for that in round 2 against Sussex Central, scampering for 5 touchdowns and throwing 1 to boot. On defense, Thornhill recorded 8 tackles and picked up a fumble as well. Thornhill is backing up the acclaim that UVA has already seen, where Thornhill has already given the Cavaliers a verbal commitment.

What they are Saying about Juan Thornhill

"Juan is a ball hawking safety that hits like a linebacker. Then, he's an excellent passer on the other side of the ball, both in the pocket and on the run, who breaks long run after long run. He's a playmaker who makes an impact every time he buckles a chin strap."
