    Ground teams planned to resume searching Thursday for a pilot who went missing after an F-15 fighter jet crashed in a remote, heavily wooded area of western Virginia, according to a Virginia State Police spokeswoman.
    The pilot killed in the crash of an F-15 jet this week in the remote Virginia mountains was a decorated combat veteran with 17 years of experience flying the planes, military officials in Massachusetts said Friday.

    Police in Gadsden are trying to return hundreds of stolen items to their rightful owners. Captain Paul Cody said officers bust a large fencing operation this week. Joe Pearl, 75, is the suspect in the case. It took a long time to sort through and document a very wide range of stolen property. "We've collected a lot of stuff," Cody said. "Toilet paper. We have non-firearms related weapons, we have karaoke machines, musical instruments, car stereos, underwear."

    A Calhoun County judge has decided 24 year old Devonte Raynard Arnold is not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. He has been turned over to the Alabama Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation. He was charged with killing his hospital roommate, Ian Keith Merritt, in Anniston Regional Medical Center in 2013.
