Hokies' Ore Caught up in Drug Case

From the football field to federal court. Now Virginia Tech's Brandon Ore is caught in a drug case of he said, he said. The star running back spent much of Wednesday in Roanoke Federal Court.
The case centers around a traffic stop made in Blacksburg back in June of 2006. Ore was in that car, but he wasn't driving. Tony Majette was. Police had pulled him over because they thought his windows were tinted too darkly.
The officer soon learned Majette had a suspended license, so he was arrested. That's when they found a bag of crack cocaine by the passenger seat and a smaller amount behind the seat, the seat Ore was in. Ore claimed to not know anything about the drugs. Majette told officers the drugs were Ore's. Police handcuffed both and took them downtown.
That's when Ore told them Majette had thrown the bag into his lap and police say Majette owned up to the crime. But the defense said that confession never happened. Police admitted they never took a written confession.
Majette is scheduled to tell his side of the story in court Thursday morning.
