Six townhomes at Smith Mountain Lake were completely destroyed by fire Saturday morning.  Fire departments responded to the call just past eight Saturday morning.  Bedford County firefighters say the fire started at 216 Blarney Stone Court and spread to the rest of the homes. Firefighters say the townhomes were engulfed in flames by the time they got there, and crews didn't leave the scene until after 2 o'clock.  There was a husband and wife home at the time of the fire, but they were able to escape with no injuries.  We don't yet know how the fire started.
