Local organizations are doing what they can to help Victims of Tuesday’s tornadoes. Concord's Gleaning For the World donated beverages from their New York office to a Tennessee organization supporting the tornado victims.
Gleaning staffers say they are standing by should emergency workers need more supplies.
Ismael Labiosa, Dir. of Com. Gleaning For the World - "We're sending down a shipment that should arrive down in Tennessee by tonight or early tomorrow morning. In this shipment there are 10 to 12 oz bottles of juice, this will be enough for about 42 thousand servings. So we hope this will be something that these folks can have in the meantime."
And God's Pit Crew loaded up four of their trucks Wednesday in Danville. Volunteers with the group will head to Tennessee Thursday to hand out food, water, and other supplies. Leaders say all emergency situations are tragic. This one seems particularly bad.
Randy Johnson, God's Pit Crew - "The devastation sounds massive. There's hundreds if not thousands of people who are hurting and in need who don't have a home at all, no supplies nothing left."
God's Pit Crew will set up a collection site on Monday. Click here for information on how to donate.
