Controversial Book Staying on Shelves

We know the outcome of a book battle in Appomattox County.  The School Board decided not to pull "Of Mice and Men" from the library shelves. However, Superintendent Aldridge Boone says the book will not be part of mandatory reading or group discussions.  A 10th grader's parent complained about the novel's strong and racially charged language in December.
