Gleaning for the World is preparing its next big mission, stocking an orphanage in Llama Verde, Guatemala, and the first shipment went out Friday. The local group pulled together enough soup to feed more than 85,000 people in the struggling third world country.  They also collected nearly 6,000 pairs of shoes, and an assortment of other supplies.

The folks from Gleaning plan to meet that shipment, and offer support first-hand when it arrives in about a month.
