They're serving up a feast for the eyes at the Riverviews Gallery in Lynchburg. An exhibit of edible art, from artist Christina Marsh, is on display at the downtown gallery. Marsh travels the country with parts of her exhibit, but cooks up the rest of it on location. She uses pancakes, boxes of pancake mix, chocolate, and milk in a display meant to be a form of racial and social commentary. Marsh says the idea of working with food just seemed to make sense.
Christina Marsh, Artist - "First of all, everybody eats. But, second of all, the fact of the matter is: we consume different things base on socio-economic class, and depending on where we are, regionally."
Marsh's exhibit is on display at the Riverviews Gallery through April 20th.
