They came back from a trip and found their home burnt to the ground. The fire off of English Tavern Road in Campbell County this weekend took everything the family owned. But, they're getting plenty of support from a few teammates.

Sherry Fields still can't bear the sight of her home in ashes.

Sherry Fields, Lost Her Home - "You just can't even imagine, you know telling a four year old that he has no toys."

On Saturday, Sherry was in Georgia with her 17-year-old daughter, who was playing with the Central Virginia Volleyball travel team in a national tournament. They got the news before Sunday's games.

Fields - "Over the phone, you think well you know a little fire damage or whatever, but when we got home and saw this, we did lose everything."

Everything, including their two cats. The news has brought the team even closer together.

0Alyssa Kidd, Brookville H.S. Student - "She'd do the same for us."

On their Spring Break, instead of hitting the beach and relaxing, they spent four hours Wednesday washing cars as a benefit for their teammate.

Ashley Heath, Rustburg H.S. Student - "If I was her I'd want people to know that people are there for me so that's why we are out here doing this because to let her know that we are there."

Kidd - "It's the thought of her knowing that we are behind her no matter what and we will help her no matter how bad her situation is."

The team is made up of girls from six area high schools. Their car wash effort raised a few hundred dollars. But that doesn't really matter, because…

Fields - "Its not about the money, it's about their spirit that they would get out and give their time to do something for someone else."

The cause of the house fire is being listed as accidental. If you would like to give assistance to the family, call 239-8171 or click here to email Central Virginia Volleyball Club at www.cvvb.org.
