Police say he's armed and very dangerous, and more than 100 police officers are searching for him. Steven Branscome is wanted for leading police on a high speed chase and shooting a state trooper Friday night in the Glen Lyn area of Giles County.
The trooper was shot in the neck. We're told he is doing okay and was released from the hospital last night. Branscome is believed to be in a heavily wooded and mountainous area near the West Virginia Border.
Saturday a F-150 pickup truck was stolen in that area. Police think Branscome may have taken it. If you happen to see a dark blue pickup with West Virginia tags 5LW 327, call 911.
