State police say the man wanted for shooting a state trooper has been spotted in Meadows of Dan. They say that's also where 32-year-old Steven Branscome abandoned a stolen pickup truck.
State Police are searching the truck for more clues. They believe Branscome is now on foot. Police say he's been spotted wearing a colored tee shirt, blue jeans, and a hat. He's also cut his hair. He's considered armed and very dangerous.
Police say Branscome lead troopers on a high speed chase, crashed his car and shot at a state trooper. The bullet grazed Trooper Richard Hughes neck. We're told Trooper Hughes is doing alright and was released from the hospital that night.
