Bedford Co., VA - A Bedford County man is in jail, charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery of a minor. We've learned his father is a preacher at a county church. Investigators aren't saying much at this point, because they don't want to jeopardize on ongoing case. But the suspect's mother did answer some questions about what happened.   Officers arrested 34-year-old Anthony Carter last Wednesday.

Bedford County authorities say they received a complaint of some inappropriate sexual conduct, so they investigated and ended up arresting Carter. His father, Reverend Wayne Carter, preaches at Free Pentecostal Holiness Church in Thaxton. He and his wife Joyce live just up the road

She says a 13-year-old friend of Anthony's daughter accused him of reaching up her shirt and down her pants. Joyce also says the girl had been staying at her son's home for more than a week, then made the complaint after leaving. But Anthony's mother also says her son has repeatedly said he is innocent and she believes he'd never do anything like this.

Anthony Carter will appear in court on Friday for a bond hearing, then again in April for another hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to support the case.
