Man Dead in Logging Accident

Appomattox County Deputies report a man has died in a logging accident there. The Sheriff's Office says a 62-year-old logger from the county died when a tree he was cutting fell on top of him.
We're told someone driving by, around 8:30, spotted the man's vehicle sitting next to the road and stopped, then found the man dead. The accident happened about two miles off of Highway 460 on Rocks Church Road.
