The Hidden Valley girl’s basketball program will have to look for a new head coach. The Roanoke Times reports that Mike McGuire is leaving the high school ranks and heading to college.
In an e-mail, McGuire wrote that he is resigning as the girl’s basketball coach and will be accepting an official offer on Monday afternoon to become an assistant women's coach at the University of Richmond.
McGuire of course led the Titans to back-to-back state titles the past two years. By heading to Richmond, that means he'll continue to coach Abby Oliver - who'll be a freshman there next season. McGuire's record over the past two seasons is 55-and-5.
