Hillcats Hold Off Warthogs

After having Sunday off, the Hillcats picked up their homestand Monday night, playing the first of three against the Winston-Salem Warthogs. This game all Hillcats early.
Jim Negrych plates one of his two runs on the night, the Carolina League's top hitter going 4-for-4, he's now hitting .414 through the first 30 games. Lynchburg scored three in the first, two in the second to take a 5-0 lead. Tony Watson goes 5-and-a-third innings, allowing two runs and six hits.
Lynchburg holds off a late Warthogs charge to win it. Hillcats 7, Warthogs 6.
In Wilmington, Salem took an early 3-nothing lead but a 4-run 5th helped the Blue Rocks take down the Avalanche 6-4.
