Amherst County investigators say this is the man who shot and killed a 19-year-old - who was just driving down the road this weekend. They arrested 21-year-old Timothy Wayne Wright, Junior, just before 5:00pm.
Investigators say he shot and killed Justin Baumgardner on Saturday night, as Baumgardner drove down Route 130 in Amherst County. The Sheriff tells us investigators received several tips Monday night after the story aired on ABC-13. One of those tips led them to Wright, who we've learned allegedly shot at Baumgardner's truck from his moving car.
Investigators say Wright used a stolen handgun to commit the murder. They are still trying to locate that weapon. As for a motive for the crime -- deputies are still working to figure it out.
Sheriff Jimmy Ayers, Amherst County - There's nothing that says that this has been, that we can say at the present time that he was a target or that he was premeditated in doing, we can not speculate what the motive was.
We have received reports that Timothy Wright recently returned from service in Iraq (web|news) . The sheriff says he can not confirm the report.
