High school softball at E.C. Glass, the Hilltoppers battled their long-time rivals from Danville, the G.W. Eagles. Top 5, G.W. up 6-1. Erica Warren grounds back to Courtney Boyd. She gets the out at first but Chelsea Collins comes in from third and scores to make it 7-1.

Bottom 5, Hilltoppers' lead-off hitter Kate Martin goes opposite field down into the right field corner. Mary Anderson gets it back to the infield but by that time Martin was on third with a triple. G.W. pitcher Chelsea Collins would get out of the inning though, closing it out here. She tallies 15 strikeouts. G.W. wins it 8-to-1.

Boys’ soccer, William Fleming hit the road to Lynchburg to battle E.C. Glass. Glass' Kipper Taylor broke a 2-all tie early second half to put the Hilltoppers on top. A few minutes later, it's Marshall Salmon finding Hodges Berry who nets his second goal of the game to increase the Glass lead to 4-2.

The Hilltoppers dominate the second half, Taylor sets up Berry again for his third goal of the game, hat trick for Hodges Berry, 5-2 Glass. John Oldham later sends a pretty pass to Danny Deguilio who sends a rocket to the right side for a 6-2 lead. Charley Flournoy capped the scoring seconds later as the Toppers outscore Fleming 5-0 the second half. E.C. Glass beats the Fleming Colonels 7-2.

Other boys’ soccer scores phoned in, Altavista beats Chatham 5-3, Steven Perkins sets a new Colonels' single-season record with his 20th goal of the season. Ellis Turner scored three goals to lead Amherst to a 6-0 win. Also Liberty and Rustburg battled to a 1-all tie, Heritage won at Brookville 2-1.

Girls’ soccer, Liberty blanks Amherst, the Minettes have won eight in a row.

Baseball, Appomattox and Rustburg played two, the Red Devils won the first game 3-2, the Raiders win the second, also a 3-2 final.
