There's a new twist in the murder case against an Amherst County man. It turns out, the key witness against Timothy Wright is the son of an Amherst County Sheriff's Deputy. Investigators are calling Justin Davis another victim of Tim Wright.
In fact, they filed additional charges Thursday, indicating that Justin Davis, the son of Deputy Steve Davis... was taken against his will and forced to drive while Wright murdered 19-year-old Justin Baumgardner. One count of abduction and use of a firearm during a felony has been added to Wright's long list of charges.
He made his first appearance in court Thursday. He'll have a preliminary hearing in 7 weeks. As for the witness, Justin Davis, the Sheriff's Department wants to make it clear that his father has had nothing to do with this case.
Captain Duval Doss, Amherst County Sheriff's Department- "When it came to our attention and we interviewed Justin Davis and he told us about the incident, we asked him if his father knew and he said no."
We've also learned a little bit more about a possible motive. Deputies tell us Tim Wright and Justin Baumgardner had an argument just before to the shooting. Sources tell us Wright had a girlfriend and was angry that Baumgardner had befriended her.
