Girls’ soccer, Seminole District leader Jefferson Forest played host to second-place Liberty Thursday night. Shelby Peterson scored on a corner kick the first half to make it 1-0 Cavs at intermission.
Then Peterson with the helper here, Brittany Gallagher got a touch to Marlee Flynt who boots it in to give JF a 2-0 lead. The Cavaliers shut down the Minettes and that's your final. JF wins 2-0, with the victory the Cavs clinch at least a share of the regular season title, improving to 9-and-0 in the Seminole, 10-2-and-1 overall.

Softball, Holy Cross hosted Roanoke Catholic in round one of the Blue Ridge Conference Tourney. The Gaels got the runner trying to score early, then Holy Cross broke the game wide open with its bats. The shot up the middle scores Katie Harrison and Holy Cross was on its way. The Gaels string together hits and win big, we believe the final was 12-0.

Area scores phoned in, girls’ soccer, E.C. Glass wins at G.W. 3-0.
Boys’ soccer, Altavista knocks off Galileo 5-0 in Danville.
And the E.C. Glass boys’ and girls’ lacrosse teams won, the boys over East Rockingham, the girls knock off South County.
