The clean-up effort begins for dozens of Danville residents who were evacuated from their homes Thursday afternoon. City officials say they evacuated 17 houses, 29 people total after the Long Mill Buildings caught fire and sent flames shooting 30 feet in the air.
Most of those people were able to move back in by Friday morning. Only a few homes on Farrar Street are still being considered dangerous. A voluntary shelter remains at the Salvation Army for those people.
