Students and school workers in Charlotte County are honoring the woman killed Thursday in a school bus crash. 57-year-old Phyllis Pollard drove bus number 38 for eight years. The school retired that number Friday in Pollard's honor and put white bows on all school vehicles.
Students made cards for the Pollard family. Other bus drivers are planning a permanent memorial and service for Pollard. She and 32 students were on their way to Central Middle School when state police say Pollard had a medical emergency and crashed on Route 40.
They are still investigating.
