The Citgo convenience store on Campbell Avenue in Lynchburg is back open after a shooting there last month. Abderrahin Elfilali was shot in the head during a robbery, and we're told he's slowly recovering.
Elfilali is no longer at Lynchburg Regional Hospital. His brother tells us he's now at Virginia Baptist Hospital. But he doesn't know much more about his condition or what he's doing there. The store may be back open, but his brother tells us it's still a very sensitive time for the family. He didn't want to go on camera. Still, many people around the area have been coming in to express their concern.
Vincent Frett, Customer - "I am praying for him every day. That is my man and everything. That's what's up. That's my boy.
People brought flowers, stuffed animals, cards and posters to the store while it was closed. Some of those are still around today, reminding folks what happened there and encouraging the family.
