A Virginia state trooper has minor injuries after a hit and run this morning on I-81.
Police are still looking for the truck driver who sideswiped his car. Trooper Jeff Rasnick had pulled over a truck near the Buchanan exit in Botetourt County and had the driver in his car, when another truck hit his cruiser and kept going.
It's described as a long nose, dark colored classic freightliner tractor, hauling a white or light grey box trailer. It should have significant damage on the right side of the trailer, maybe even a tear in the side, with maroon paint from the unmarked cruiser, and broken marker lights.
It was last seen heading northbound on I-81.
If you have any information call State Police at 1-800-542-5959.
Trooper Rasnick was taken to Roanoke Memorial with non life-threatening injuries.
