Resident Found Shot to Death

A Campbell County man is dead and police are looking for his killer. Friends found 69-year-old Wilbur West dead in his Lynch Station home Sunday morning. Friends of West are wondering who could've done such a thing.
Friends found Wilbur West dead near his front door. They went looking for him after he didn't show up at church.
Maj. Steve Hutcherson, Campbell County Sheriff's Office - "I talked to several family members here today, the whole community is upset, very unusual in this neighborhood."
But the Leewood Road home where West lived alone is now a crime scene. Police say it appears he was shot to death. Now deputies searching for clues.
Hutcherson - "We had some people who live on the street that noticed the front porch light on, which is unusual."
Deputies say West could have died late last week. An autopsy will hopefully reveal more information. For Major Hutcherson, West is not just a victim, but a good friend.
Hutcherson - "He was a great guy, a good man, and would like to find out who did this and why it happened as quickly as possible."
