Halifax Co., VA - State Police say speed was a factor in a double fatal accident in Halifax County last Saturday on Route 501. We're told Gary and Rachel Anderson were traveling faster then 70 miles per hour on the two lane road, when Gary attempted to pass a car, lost control of his jeep, and hit a tree.
The speed limit was 55. The Andersons were just miles from their home. Both were pronounced dead on scene.
