Roanoke, VA -
Some western Virginia residents felt a mild earthquake. The U.S. Geological Survey recorded a 3.0 magnitude earthquake shortly after 4 a.m. on Saturday, according to the National Earthquake Information Center. The epicenter was about 3 miles west-southwest of Roanoke. No damage or injuries have been reported. Earthquakes of this intensity usually do not cause much damage. Sometimes called micro-earthquakes, they often are only detected by seismographs and not felt by people.
