Rustburg, VA - Cancer is a tough opponent for anyone, but perhaps most of all for a child. But a two-year-old Rustburg boy has a lot of help in his corner. Nathan Norman has brain cancer. Right now he's undergoing chemotherapy to keep it from growing.

It's been tough for Nathan's family, emotionally and financially, but thanks to friends there's a way we all can help.

Two-year-old Nathan Norman is like most little boys- wanting to do whatever his big brother does, but unlike most little boys, Nathan has some scars.

In January, Nathan had 55 percent of a tumor removed from his brain. Then in March he started chemotherapy, meaning monthly trips down to Duke University.

Dawn Norman, Nathan's mom, said, "It's the hardest thing you ever have to go through. It's the grace of God that gets me through everyday."

Thankfully, Nathan's parents have the help of friends and members of their church to help.  "I can't even tell you all the different things that people have done to help our family," Norman said.

People like the At Lees, who've been there for support.  "Our kids are about the same age, we've had many tearful times," Rick At Lee said.

But the time for crying is over. And Heather At Lee has organized massive yard sale for Saturday June 6th to help the Normans. Clothing, furniture, exercise equipment- you name it, it'll be there. "We even have a kitchen sink!" Heather At Lee said.

They want to raise $5,000, but they hope for much more than that.  "We just pray everyday that he just gives us the strength and grace to get us through every day," Norman said.

The Yard Sale is going on Saturday June 6 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Bed Shoppe, off of Route 460 in Concord. They have a tractor trailer full of stuff to unload already and are working on filling another. There will also be a bake sale, silent auction, face painting, and a moon bounce for the kids.

If you are interested in donating to the Norman family, you can email 6atlees@gmail.com or call 434-229-5923.
