Lynchburg, VA -
A former Bedford County investigator has been found guilty of stalking his ex-girlfriend. Rodney Thompson has now been sentenced to four months in jail.
He previously served as a sergeant with Blue Ridge Thunder; the Online Predator Task Force. The defense had argued Thompson had an ongoing relationship with the victim, exchanging hundreds of text messages and even maintaining ongoing sexual contact.
The judge did agree that her actions were bizarre, but ruled her actions were not on trial. Thompson will face another stalking charge next month in Campbell County. His attorney says they will appeal Thursday's ruling.
