A wildfire in North Carolina left parts of Virginia feeling the heat Friday. Lightning reportedly started the fire this week and so far, it's burned 30,000 acres and it doesn't look like it'll be contained any time soon.
The latest report on the fire shows that only 30 percent of it is under control. In some areas, flames are 250 feet high. The fires might be in North Carolina, but the smoky smell has traveled all the way to parts of Richmond, Chase City and Charlotte County.
Ayres Grey, Charlotte County Resident - I was wondering where it came from. I was looking all around my house. Because in the winter time you always smell smoke because a lot of people burn wood here. I didn't see anything. I didn't see no smoke but I smelled it."
