Investigators are tracking down the family of a man who appears to have drowned on the James River. Emergency workers responded to a call about a man who had fallen off a foot bridge in Bedford County.

They removed a male's body from the water. He has not yet been identified. A public safety spokesman says the accident happened around 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the Snowden area of Bedford County. Crews from Bedford, Amherst County and Smith Mountain Lake helped with the recovery.
