Dixie Youth Tournament Begins

Day one of the 9-and10 year old Dixie Youth District Tournament began Friday from Kelly Field in Rustburg. In the nightcap, Rustburg National took on Appomattox. Hunter Campbell was smokin' on the mound striking out all kinds of batters.
While he was doing the pitching, his brother Josh did the hitting. He clubs a single down the line. Davis Simpkins and Jacob Bohannon score and it's 2-nothing Rustburg National. Now in the 3rd, Appomattox cuts into the deficit. Jared Motley doubles down the line. DeShawn Thomas scores. It's 2-1, but Rustburg National went on to win it 11-to-1 in 5 innings.
The winner of this tourney moves on to state for a shot at making the World Series.
