After dropping the first of a three-game road trip Sunday night at Wilmington, the Hillcats bounced back to beat the Blue Rocks Monday night. Jared Keel hit a two-run homer and Lynchburg wins 6-3 to take over second place in the Northern Division by a game over the Rocks.
They finish the series Tuesday night before the 'Cats return home for nine games.
And in Salem, Cesar Quintero had himself a night but the Avalanche fall to Winston-Salem 11-8.
In the Appalachian League, first-place Danville wins at Johnson City. Rocky Mount's Casey Hodges pitched five-and-a-third innings, allowing two runs, one earned.
Pulaski lost at home to Bristol 6-4.
