Concord, VA - The Swat Valley region of Pakistan is in chaos. Millions of refugees are swarming camps- short on food, water, and medical supplies- after fleeing areas now claimed by the Taliban.
Concord's Gleaning For The World is doing all it can to save as many as possible, by sending shoes.
Reverend Ron Davidson, with Gleaning For The World, said, "They're people that are hurting. They're starving. We're going to lose hundreds of thousands of people, I don't care what we do. But what we're trying to do is keep from losing half a million people. And these folks deserve to be able to live as much as we do."
Reverend Ron Davidson says the shoes protect refugees from sharp rocks, infections, and parasites. They're sending 10,000 pairs to the area, donated by a group called Samaritan's Feet. They are also sending a million dollars in medical supplies.
They are also sending shoes and medicine to Sudan and trying to get even more shoes overseas. If you can volunteer to help out, they'd really appreciate it. Call them at 434-993-3600 or
