The Weekender: June 5-7
Be sure to check out the activities surrounding the D-Day Anniversary. Saturday June 6th marks the 65th anniversary of the allies attack on Normandy Beach. And the D-Day memorial in Bedford has some commemorative events for the whole family. Find out more on their website, DDay.org.
It's a great weekend to find a bargain. Two giant yard sales are being held to support worthy causes. The first is the Nathan Norman Yard Sale. That's going on from 8:00 to 4:00 p.m. to support a two-year-old Rustburg boy with brain cancer. It's being held at the Bed Shoppe off 460 in Concord. And the Miller Home of Lynchburg is holding a yard sale and flea market. Stop by between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. for food and deals.
At the box office, the last few weeks have been dominated by sci-fi action films and big budget summer movies. So if you're looking for a laid-back comedy try The Hangover. Watch as these goofy guys try to piece what went wrong after a weekend in Las Vegas. And that's what's going on this weekend.
