Lynchburg, VA - Construction on the Lynchburg Expressway that was supposed to start Monday will now start Wednesday.
Starting Tuesday, the outer southbound lane of the Lynchburg Expressway will be closed from the Carter Class Bridge to Kemper Street to fix the Grace Street retaining wall.
Both inside lanes from Kemper Street to the Candlers Mountain Road exit will also be closed, to repair the concrete barrier. Those projects will take three to four weeks then crews will repave all the lanes, which is expected to last until November. The work will be done between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
