Appomattox Co., VA - Appomattox County's superintendent is parting ways with the school system a year early. On Thursday, the school board and Dr. Aldredge Boone reached an agreement that his contract will end Friday.
It was set to end next June, but last month he told the school board that he would not be renewing it. There have been rumblings in the community over the board's method of evaluating him this year, using input from hand picked parents, community leaders, and school personnel.
Last week some parents protested that they weren't allowed to give their opinions. The school system will pay him $100,000 for the remaining year of his contract.
