Bedford Co., VA -
Bedford County investigators have seized three pieces of computer hardware they say distributed child porn over the internet. They took the hardware from a house at 1094 Pinebluff Drive in Bedford County, near the City of Lynchburg. The sheriff's office and Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force took a computer, an iPod Touch and a cable router. Investigators say they used software to trace file sharing of child porn to a computer in the house. They haven't had a chance to go through the evidence, and have made no arrests.
Sgt. Terry Wright, Bedford County Sheriff's Office - "Based on our investigation, along with the evidence that's found on the computer, we present that to the Commonwealth's Attorney and they help us make a determination as to the appropriate charges."
This investigation led them to believe two computers in Campbell County may also contain child porn. Officers visited the houses and checked the computers, but what they uncovered will not lead to charges.
