Lynchburg, VA - Plenty of Lynchburg commuters had a tough go of it Monday afternoon, and it may be a few days before you see much of an improvement.
A pair of maintenance projects began rerouting traffic around lunchtime. On Timberlake Road, crews cut traffic to one lane to make way for paving between Leesville Road and Oakmont Circle. That should take about three days.
Workers are also redirecting traffic on Fort Avenue and the Lynchburg Expressway, near Graves Mill Road. That job includes construction on Norfolk Southern's overhead railroad tracks.
Crews spent most of the afternoon painting markers and laying cones. The actual build will take place overnight from 11:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
