The Hillcats have made their home field advantage work for them throughout this stretch of nine straight games at City Stadium. So far they're won the first four. In the 4th against Frederick, a Kent Sakamoto double brought home Jamie Romak to make it 1-zip Cats.
Jared Keel almost gave them a 2-nothing lead but this rocket is nabbed by Billy Rowell to end the inning. In the 5th...it was tied at one until Alex Presley unloaded on a solo shot. His 4th homer on the year made it 2-1.
Top 6, Rowell was doing it at the plate as well. He comes up and sends one down the left field line. It goes all the way to the wall to score Brandon Snyder. We're tied again - now at two. Rowell would come home on a wild pitch to make it 3-2 and then in the 7th...the Keys broke it open.
Brandon Tripp ropes a shot into the gap in right-center. He'll get into second with a double. Two score to make it 5-2. That's how it ended and that's how the Hillcats six game winning streak comes to an end. They can still take two out of three from Frederick though, in game three Monday night at 7.
The Hillcats could have taken a half-game lead with a win because Salem and Potomac were postponed. The Cats and P-Nats were tied for first place heading into Sunday night.
After losing three straight the D-Braves got back on track with a win last night and they scored in the 9th to tie it at one but Kingsport answered with a walk-off single to win it 2-1.
