It's a well-known place for kids to play. And Monday night, Pittsylvania County supervisors will likely decide what to do with the Blairs Community Center building. About 4,000 children use the building and its surrounding fields for recreation. The center's roof is in bad shape, though.
The board has talked about paying to fix it or even selling the building for salvage. The president of the Soccer Club hopes supervisors will take their time before making a decision like that, since about 800 of his kids depend on the program.
Juergen Fochler, Soccer Club President - "For a lot of those kids, this is home, that's the only place they know, that's the only place they play soccer at, they don't know of any other place to go."
Supervisors could decide to wait a year and let the newly formed recreation board take time to come up with a plan.
