Hillcats & Kinston Split Two

For the first time since June 13th of last year, the Hillcats began Thursday night in sole possession of first place in the Northern Division. The 'Cats and Kinston Indians playing two at City Stadium.
Game One, Lynchburg led 3-0 until Kinston's Johnny Drennen drills one to left, off the wall, Cirilo Cumberbatch races in to get the Indians on the scoreboard in the fifth. The Hillcats, though, say enough of that, Jamie Romak lines a double down the third base line bringing home Angel Gonzalez and Jim Negrych to increase the lead to 5-1.
The 'Cats add two more on RBI singles by Kent Sakamoto and Alex Presley. Lynchburg wins big 7-1 in game one, but Kinston returns the favor, taking the nightcap 9-2.
Also in the Carolina League, Salem was rained out at Myrtle Beach, they'll play two Friday beginning at 6:05.
Appalachian League, Danville split a doubleheader at home against Bluefield, Rocky Mount's Casey Hodges threw a 2-hit shutout in game two for the Braves, striking out eight.
And Pulaski wins at Johnson City 7-3.
