Picnic to Honor Iraq Vets

More than 60 Bedford national guardsmen are home from Iraq (web|news) and veterans are celebrating. The troops of Company "A", first of the 116th infantry brigade combat team, got home more than a month ago after a year in Iraq.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars will host a cookout in Appomattox this Sunday for the guardsmen and their families. It will start at eleven at the Appomattox Moose Lodge off of 460. The vets are asking you to join in by donating food, money, door prizes and your time.
Drop donations at the Bedford National Guard Armory or mail them to VFW, PO Box 95, Bedford, VA 24523.
