Two Killed in Separate Accidents

Two people are dead after separate accidents. State police tell us the first accident happened in Franklin County around 11:30 Saturday night. They say 21-year-old Roberto Celles-Juarez was driving on Route 705, near Route 674. That's when police say he tried to pass a car on a double yellow line. He then ran off the road, lost control, and overturned. Police say he died after being thrown out of his car. Celles -aurez is from Rocky Mount. Police say he was not wearing his seatbelt and the accident is still under investigation.
And the other accident happened in Rockbridge County. State police say Gary L. Kirshenbaum was driving his motorcycle on Route 60 when he ran off the road and hit several trees. Emergency crews took him to the hospital, where he died later that evening. Police say he did have his helmet on. Kirshenbaum was 53 and from Ontario, Canada.

I've never seen anything like it, but there's something about drivers in Franklin Co. that they will not do the speed limit. I used to travel rt. 40 from the Smith Mountain Dam area to Rocky Mount on a daily basis when I worked at Walmart and I can't hardly remember a time that I didn't get behind somebody that would go between 40 & 50 mph., most of the time well under 50. The speed limit is 55 except for a couple of curves and through Redwood. It's aggrevating to get behind people like that all the time and I'd bet that's what happened in the Franklin accident since it's reported that Celles-Juarez past a car on double solid lines.
